PascualLab improves the health and lives of Habitat partners

MANILA, Philippines - Health advocacy is one of the thrusts of the PascualLab SEED initiative, the company’s corporate social responsibility program. SEED is short for “Sowing to Empower, Educate, and Develop” and the project is aligned with PascualLab’s belief that health is instrumental towards improving one’s quality of life.

But beyond the company’s support for better health within its chosen community of Habitat for Humanity home partners in Karisma Ville, Malabon, PascualLab also tries to support the personal endeavors of selected individuals. One such beneficiary is Nanay Luz Loro, president of the Karisma Ville Homeowners’ Association, who also runs a small catering business in the area. As leader in her community, she is very grateful for the assistance provided by PascualLab through its Health for Humanity project. “Ay naku napaka laking tulong samin. Ramdam na ramdam namin hanggang ngayon,” said Nanay Luz as she went on to list all her favorite PascualLab products that instantly gave relief to her and the community. On a more personal note, Nanay Luz is especially appreciative of the company’s support of her personal catering services.

Nanay Luz, who is looked up to by members of her community as a second mother, epitomizes one of the many values that the company espouses — malasakit. In supporting Nanay Luz’s livelihood, PascualLab allows her to give more to her community. When there is an excess supply of medicine, she even makes sure to share the blessings with people outside the community.

This year, PascualLab has thus far organized two medical missions for the Habitat home partners in the Karisma Ville community, providing free medical checkups, health monitoring, as well as free vitamins and medicines to over 500 individuals.

 Under SEED, Health for Humanity has blossomed into a more sustainable and measurable undertaking. PascualLab may have just recently planted its SEED of health advocacy, and, while the SEED may still be small, there is no doubt that its effect on the community has already begun to grow.
