Chris Monteron & Trixie Sia: The sweetest thing at the U2 concert

-

MANILA, Philippines - On Dec. 17, 2011, lovebirds Chris Monteron and Trixie Sia said their vows on a lovely Christmas afternoon at Santuario de San Antonio at Forbes Park, Makati. Chris and Trixie met while they were interns at a multinational company.

“Trixie caught my eye with her cheerful beauty. Not only was she so beautiful, her positive and cheerful attitude was something I hope to have every single day of my life, “ Chris recalls.

After a few years, Chris asked Trixie’s hand in marriage while on a trip to London to visit the couple’s close friend. With London’s famous Hampton Court as backdrop, Chris went on his knees and asked her to be his wife. “I had no idea. I was so surprised because Chris and his friends disguised the trip as a plan to watch U2 in Wembley Stadium. Although U2 was quite the show, it was Chris, not Bono, who was the highlight of my trip,” Trixie adds.

With the support of their loving parents, Albert and Helen Monteron and Florencio and Nelly Sia, as well as their principal sponsors, family and friends, the ceremony began. The Mass was celebrated by Fr. Asandas Balchand, SJ, a long-time family friend of the couple. It was a happy celebration many times over as it also was the bride’s birthday. The Christmas atmosphere was also in the air with the decorations all around San Antonio, but more importantly with relatives coming home to celebrate the season with the couple.

“You could really feel the outpouring of love from everyone in the church. I couldn’t have asked God for a more perfect wedding and husband,” Trixie enthuses.

Reception followed at The Manila Polo Club. As they entered, the audience was surprised as the couple, joined by their friends and family, performed a flashmob dance to the tune of Hall and Oates’ You Make my Dreams Come True, inspired by the dance sequence in the movie 500 Days of Summer. After a great dinner, heartwarming videos and teary-eyed speeches, the groom unveiled his birthday gift for his lovely bride — his own version of their theme song, Everything, by Lifehouse accompanied by members of the Manila Symphony Orchestra.

Truly, it was a lovely night — a Christmas, a birthday and a wedding celebration all rolled into one.
