Pampers and The Spa pamper women after childbirth

MANILA, Philippines - Pampers has teamed up with The Spa to give women advice on how they can look their best after giving birth. Part of its “Pampers salutes Moms” campaign, “My Body after Baby” was an intimate event held at The Spa Fort Bonifacio that gave guests tips on how to deal with common skin problems post pregnancy and gave them a preview of how to get back in shape.

From their face to their body, women’s skin can experience a lot of changes after giving birth. Dry facial skin is one skin problem commonly encountered by moms post pregnancy, which could be caused by hormonal changes during pregnancy or the use of harsh soaps and products.

To bring the luminous radiance back to the faces of moms, women can switch to a non-soap cleanser for their face. Dermatologists from Skin helped moms find the right combination of moisturizer and cleanser to bring back moisture to their skin.

Skin prescribed several topical regimens for acne, with focus being on preventing future acne eruptions as well as treating existing lesions.

For more severe cases, Skin Dermatology & Laser Center offers acne treatment, a laser treatment that targets the sebaceous glands and reduces their inflammatory acne.

For women worried about wrinkles caused by stress and sleepless nights, Skin offers thermage, a non-invasive procedure that’s perfect for busy new moms as it tightens skin through a single treatment.

Weight loss is another concern for moms after giving birth and aside from diet and regular exercise, experts from Skin also advise women to breastfeed, as it not only imparts valuable nutrients to their baby but even enables them to lose weight faster as women lose a lot of calories producing milk. Breastfeeding also stimulates contraction of the uterus so it also helps women not develop a puson.

But for women who still want further toning of problem areas like the tummy, thighs, and flanks, Skin offers VelasmoothPro, a body contouring and cellulite reduction treatment that uses targeted radiofrequency to tighten skin, improve its texture, and shape problem areas.

Moms can get back in shape with Barre 3, a revolutionary class that combines the grace of the ballet barre, the wisdom of yoga, and the strength of Pilates.

“I had two pregnancies and while it is really a wonderful experience, I know that it has distorted my body. Pregnant women have the worst posture because they’re rounded — parang kinompress yung spine mo, making the spaces between your vertebrae smaller, but your lower back is hyper-extended,” says Barre 3 instructor Joie Viado.

“Barre 3 is all about finding the correct posture, helping you get back to the most natural curve,”adds Viado. “Especially going through the nine months of pregnancy, you have certain aches and pains — like some moms develop back pains and knee pains. In Barre 3, we give you stretching exercises and help you find the best posture so you are relieved of the pains and aches.”

To help make it easier for moms to care for their babies and get their much needed me-time, Pampers has created a line of diapers especially designed to help care for baby’s specific needs at each stage of his development — Pampers Stages.

A mom joins a Barre 3 class exclusively offered at The Spa. Barre 3 is a mix of ballet, Pilates, and yoga.

For newborns and babies up to six months old, there’s Pampers Stages New Baby, especially designed to keep baby’s skin healthy and comfortable. To care for baby’s skin, Pampers Stages New Baby has the softest ever cottony cover from Pampers, plus a hypo-allergenic lotion with aloe extract that cares for baby’s delicate bottom. For babies at six to 18 months old, Pampers offers Pampers Stages Active Baby, especially designed to let baby move freely and comfortably. To help give baby the ability to play all day, Pampers Active Baby diaper has an extra-lock layer that keeps baby’s bottom dry even under pressure. For babies 18 months onwards, Pampers presents Pampers Stages Easy-Up Pants, which fit like underwear and have twice the stretch around the waist for quick standing changes. Now your child can explore the world with ease.
