MANILA, Philippines - The Society of St. Paul, a religious congregation of priests and brothers whose mission is to spread the Gospel in mass media, launched its Sunday Mass for “shut-ins” with NBN 4 last Aug. 21. “Shut-ins” refer to persons who are sick or physically challenged, the elderly, the caregivers, prisoners, and others in similar difficulties.
This year, the congregation closes the 75-year celebration of its foundation in the Philippines and Macau and starts its three-year journey towards 100 years of being a congregation of pontifical right by August 2014.
Sambahay TV Mass airs Sundays on NBN 4 from 4 to 5 p.m. Sambuhay, coined from the words samba and buhay, is the official masthead of the popular printed Mass guide or missalette for parishes that the congregation has published in English, Filipino, and Hiligaynon for 25 years now.
