Life coach at CFP parents' meet
MANILA, Philippines - Few people can imagine the many challenges faced by parents of children with special needs. On some days, even these parents themselves feel overwhelmed when the challenges seem insurmountable. That’s why on Wednesday, June 29, the Center For Possibilities, Inc. (CFP) will feature life coach Maricel Moreno-Laraya to talk to its parent support group and assure them that life is all about challenges, and the key to overcoming them is to possess the proper perspective and mindset.
“Challenges are there for everybody, not just parents of special kids,” explains Moreno-Laraya. “They just have a unique set of obstacles and problems. While there is no magic formula to make problems go away, as a life coach, I focus on giving people the tools and the courage to face life’s challenges, whatever they may be, so that they can deal with or overcome these.”
A certified professional life coach trained and accredited by the International Coach Federation (ICF-Global), Laraya often caters to corporate clients, but also offers individual coaching for personal and professional goals. Her other interests are writing a career advice column for JobsDB, and being a facilitator at the EduChild Foundation, where she teaches courses that help people become better at parenting, arguably the most important career of their lives.
The Center For Possibilities, Inc. is a non-profit foundation working for the benefit of children with developmental disabilities and their families. To learn more about the foundation, visit www.possibilitiescenter.org.
