Kids learn the other 'R': Recycling

-

MANILA, Philippines - Epson Precision (Philippines) Inc. president Osamu Koshiishi shares the story of the legendary Japanese dog Hachiko with Grade 4 pupils at the turnover ceremony for a learning resource corner at Lodlod Elementary School in Lipa City last March 21.  Through the Balik Baterya recycling program of Motolite and the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP), Epson donated textbooks, chairs, and tables to beneficiary schools in Lipa, with the generated funds from Epson’s used lead-acid batteries (ULABs) and additional financial assistance used to sponsor learning resource packages to 12 schools in the city. The Motolite-PBSP Balik Baterya Program, launched in 2006, involves the collection of ULABs for proper recycling and production of new automotive and industrial batteries.
