Pinoy kids get a kick out of Nick

-

MANILA, Philippines - This year, Pinoy kids can definitely expect more fun and entertainment from their favorite channel, Nickelodeon. Starting April 1, the world’s number one network for kids will launch its own dedicated channel in the Philippines, promising a stronger programming line-up and lots of exciting on-air and on-the-ground promotions tailor fit for two- to 14- year-old audiences in the country.

So, what exactly is up the orange alley? Beginning April, Nickelodeon launches fresh on-air activities that Pinoy kids will surely enjoy.   For starters, those celebrating their birthday can expect a blowout like no other just by joining Nickelodeon’s Birthday Buzz promotion. In the Philippines, birthdays are big and Filipino families just love celebrating them! And what better way to do that than by celebrating it the biggest way possible — on TV, for everyone else to know that it’s your special day. Nothing like a greeting on-air to get your birthday buzzin’. It’s so simple. Exactly four weeks before their birthday, kids just have to send in their name, age, gender, e-mail address, contact number, and birth date to nickster@nick-asia.com. They can also snail mail these bits of information to the Nickelodeon Philippine office located at the 3/F Silver City Mall, Frontera Drive, Julia Vargas corner E. Rodriguez Jr., Pasig, Metro Manila.

Who says art has to be so serious? Nickelodeon believes that every kid has a talent and encourages the young ones to share their imagination and artistic skills by asking them to send in their artworks to be showcased on the channel. From crafty cardboard boxes to cool little oodles of doodles, each and every artwork is welcome. So long as it’s original and comes from the heart, Nickelodeon declares it as art. Entries can be e-mailed or snail-mailed to the Nickelodeon (same details as above).

And introducing …. Nickelodeon’s newest live-action show, House of Anubis. Combining equal parts of soap, mystery, drama, and comedy, the story revolves around the House of Anubis, an English boarding school where eight students try to solve a hidden mystery.   It premiered last April 1 at 4:30 p.m.

This April, Nickelodeon kicks off the year with Nick World, a summer event where kids can see their favorite Nicktoons come to life. Here, kids will be invited to step into a world of fun, a world of Nickelodeon stars. Where else can they see SpongeBob SquarePants, Patrick Star, Dora the Explorer and Boots, Diego, Kai-Lan, Danny Phantom, and Aang in just one event? There will be lots of Nickified game stations and activities for everyone plus tons of freebies. To top it all off, admission is free and everyone’s invited to join the day of fun.

So, mark your calendars and make your way to the Bonifacio Global City open field (behind NBC Tent), Taguig City, on Saturday, April 9. Gates open at 2 p.m.
