MANILA, Philippines - To promote good oral health, leading dental health gum brand Lotte Xylitol and the Philippine Dental Association (PDA) recently went on a mall tour in several malls in the metropolis. Lotte Xylitol and the PDA invited schoolchildren to participate in various activities like “dancercises,” a mini play, and a short talk about the importance of regular visits to the dentist, to help make them aware of the four habits of maintaining good oral hygiene. The four habits of maintaining good oral hygiene include a well-balanced diet, brushing, flossing, and chewing a dental health gum like Lotte Xylitol, which contains xylitol, a sugar-free sweetener that fights bad bacteria in the teeth; brushing teeth with a fluoride-based toothpaste, and visiting the dentist at least twice a year.
Participants were also introduced to the heroes of Toothville, a functional village protected by superheroes led by Captain D, the superhero dentist, Xylitol, Nutri, Flossy, Brush-O, and Fluory. Officials from the PDA and Lotte Xylitol were led by Dr. Angelo Fernandez, chairman of the Dental Public Health (DPH) committee of the PDA, and Therese Reyes, marketing manager of Lotte Xylitol.
