Two baby showers full of expectations
MANILA, Philippines - One of the most looked-forward-to events of being pregnant is the baby shower, a special time for friends and family to shower the mom-to-be with gifts and love, and an occasion for mothers to share their thoughts and advice on motherhood. It doesn’t matter if the pregnancy is the first or the fourth, a baby shower is still something to get excited about as Mom anticipates and celebrates her coming baby’s many firsts. Kicking off the campaign is a series of baby showers that were thrown by Johnson’s Baby for several expectant celebrity moms. Starting the celebrity baby shower series are first-time mom and former Olympian Akiko Thomson-Guevara and writer/TV personality Ria Tanjuatco-Trillo.
Akiko’s contribution to the world of sports in the Philippines is legendary. Currently a Philippine Sports Commissioner, she has kept herself very busy and maintained a sports-oriented life, even though she is no longer training competitively. However, all that changed when she learned that she was pregnant. Ever the athlete, she started to “train” her body, and aspects of her life, to welcome her new baby — with the excitement and enthusiasm only a first-time mom will truly understand.
Johnson’s Baby threw a sports-themed, couples baby shower at the West Lounge of the Manila Polo Club to celebrate the arrival of the Guevaras’ little champ, baby Noah Ricardo Marsh. Joining in the couple’s revelry were their dearest friends who all enjoyed a fun afternoon of food, games, and laughter.

The past holiday season was extra special for the Trillo family as they celebrated the arrival of the latest addition to their growing brood. While this third pregnancy was unexpected, it was nevertheless welcomed with great joy. Ria’s baby shower theme captured the excitement of the family’s first Christmas with their new baby, in all its magical splendor. Johnson’s Baby treated Ria’s friends and family to a fun and merry Christmas-themed baby shower, which was held at Chef Jessie Sincioco’s Top of the Citi.
