It's raining baby showers
MANILA, Philippines - It’s her third pregnancy, but TV host Ria Tanjuatco-Trillo will be the first to tell you that it still feels as if it were the first. Many veteran moms would agree that no two pregnancies are exactly alike. Each one has its own uniqueness that makes each and every pregnancy special. Unlike Ria’s first two, this third pregnancy was totally unexpected but not any less welcome. It will be an extra memorable Christmas this year for the Trillos since the new addition to the family is expected to be delivered during this much-awaited holiday season. Preparing for that red letter day becomes even more exciting for Ria as she hosts her own Johnson’s baby shower.
“The baby shower is really the first formal introduction of your baby to the world, even before he or she is born,” notes Juan Carlos C. Garcia, senior brand manager of Johnson & Johnson. “It is for this reason that Johnson’s has decided to throw a series of special and meaningful baby showers.”
Partnering with Cinema One and the Lifestyle Network, Johnson’s presents a series of baby shower episodes highlighting the excitement of this special occasion. Together with Ria, three other celebrity moms are featured in these TV specials: Philippine Olympian Akiko Thomson-Guevara, Marielle Santos-Po from the family of fashion retail giant Cinderella, and another TV host Lexi Schulze.
“To reach even more moms nationwide, Johnson’s, the expert in baby products trusted by generations of mothers, doctors, and health care professionals, will be giving three more lucky mothers a chance to have their own grand Johnson’s baby shower,” announces Garcia at the launch at the Legazpi room of the Hotel Intercontinental, which was transformed into a virtual baby’s nursery and venue for a fun-filled baby shower.
The promo is accessible through Facebook, by searching “Johnson’s Baby World of Firsts.” To qualify, expectant mothers must fill out a simple online nomination form. Non-moms can also nominate any of their friends or family members who are expecting a baby soon. The lucky winners will star in their own Johnson’s baby shower TV episode and receive other special prizes from Johnson and Johnson.
The baby shower is the first of a baby’s many firsts, and every mom would like to be the best for her baby. This is captured in Johnson’s tagline “Sa unang sandali, sa bawat sandali, ikaw lang.”
“It is only natural that every mom would want only the best care for her baby. Johnson’s helps moms achieve this by providing only the gentlest products that have undergone the most rigorous clinical testing and scientific research for over 100 years,” asserts Garcia. “Every drop of baby bath and every grain of powder of Johnson’s products have been specially formulated to be safe and gentle for babies. They maintain the normal barrier functions of baby’s skin, maintain hydration, provide protection from environmental irritants, and are allergy-tested. Moms can be assured that what touches her baby is only the mildest and gentlest product there is.”
“Dealing with pregnancy for the first time is quite a life-changing experience for me … literally,” says Marielle Santos-Po. “I was hit by a wave of confusing emotions, both positive and negative … Finally, things started to improve and it continues to get even better each day. Once I decided to celebrate my pregnancy, I realized how God makes the nine months a bit challenging so that we truly get to appreciate the gift of life. For this reason, when Johnson’s Baby threw me my very first shower, it really marked the start of my new and exciting journey towards motherhood. I have always believed in Johnson’s products — my mom used them on me, I use them on myself, and I will continue to use them on my baby.”
First-time mom Akiko Thomson-Guevara had a sports-themed baby shower, consistent with her special interest and recognized excellence in her chosen field. Marielle Santos-Po, on the other hand, hosted an English tea party theme for her baby shower, being the “hostess with the mostest” that she is known for among her family and friends. Lexi Schulze is expected to deliver her second child at the beginning of the New Year, so her baby shower will feature all the lucky symbols that are popularly used to usher in a new year such as polka dots, circles, grapes, and everything else that is round. What better way can there be to celebrate the coming not only of a new year but also a new baby?
