The Generics Pharmacy: Giving back the gift of volunteerism
MANILA, Philippines - When it comes to making a difference, most companies typically settle for doling out cash donations. But for The Generics Pharmacy, giving back to the community is both a long-term commitment and an exceptional opportunity; a rare gift that should be passed on as a lasting tradition to people in need.
Consistently finding meaningful ways to reach out to the society, the leading generics drug chain took civic volunteerism to heart as it provided a fun-filled Family Day and charity services in the different communities in the country.
By way of thanking the people that have supported the company’s triumphs throughout the years, The Generics Pharmacy, with the support of the local government of Malabon and key sponsors, namely Lamoiyan Corp., San Miguel-Purefoods, San Miguel Mills, Magnolia, Del Monte, UK Skin Essentials, and Nestle, led the milestone mission which was held recently at the Malabon Sports Complex.
In this event, assorted community programs were started, like free medical consultations and dental services that were given to more than 3,000 participants of all ages.
“A deep commitment to community giving is one of the great distinctions that sets The Generics Pharmacy apart from other businesses. Besides encouraging our employees to step up and make a difference in communities where we do business, we are very proud to weave in and spread positive values such as giving and corporate responsibility to other companies as well. These reasons, above all, make us more than a competitive generics drug company,” says Benjamin Liuson, president of The Generics Pharmacy.
Aside from volunteer employees and top company executives, also present were Malabon City Mayor Tito Oreta and Vice Mayor Len Len Oreta.
