Pinay doctor one of Seattle's best
MANILA, Philippines - Dr. Maria Regina L. Reyes, a Filipino physician practicing in Seattle, Washington, USA, was chosen one of the best doctors by Seattle magazine in its 10th annual search for the “Best Docs in Seattle” as featured in its July 2010 issue.
Dr. Reyes was cited particularly for her expertise in spinal cord injury and brain trauma rehabilitation, and in electromyography. She is a specialist in physical medicine and rehabilitation and is the director of the Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation Unit of the University of Washington Hospital and the Harborview Medical Center, the designated trauma center for the whole northwestern part of the United States.
Dr. Reyes finished her high school at Maryknoll College in the Philippines. She is a graduate of Haverford College in Philadelphia and the Penn State University College of Medicine in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
She is married to another physician, Dr. Paul Nutter, and is the daughter of Dr. Tyrone M. Reyes, The Philippine STAR health columnist, and Dr. Ofelia Reyes, chairperson of the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine of Cardinal Santos Medical Center.
