Yummy, stress-free cooking
MANILA, Philippines - For some people, cooking is a relaxing activity. For others, on the other hand, cooking is a rather stressful endeavor. No matter which category you fall under, Yummy has something for everyone this July with an issue filled with beginner-level dishes for stress-free cooking to more challenging recipes for the more adventurous home cooks.
In a rush? You don’t have to sacrifice flavor for speed. This rich, creamy dish of Russian origin requires just 20 minutes of your precious time:

Serves 6. Prep time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 15 minutes
Ingredients:
1 white onion, chopped
1/4 cup melted butter
1/2 cup button mushrooms, sliced

1/2 piece red bell pepper, chopped
1/2 piece green bell pepper, chopped
2 teaspoons chopped parsley
1/2 cup butter, melted
4 cups cooked rice
In a wok, sauté the chopped onions in melted butter. Add the sliced mushrooms, cook for three to five minutes. Add the beef strips and cook until brown. Add the sour cream and Worcestershire sauce. Add salt and pepper to taste, set aside. Make the buttered rice. In a separate wok, sauté the bell peppers and parsley in butter. Add the cooked rice and mix well. Top the rice with beef, garnish with parsley and serve.
Tip: On a budget? Even if it’s a little bit tough, you can use striploin beef. Want to have pasta for dinner? You can substitute the rice with fettuccine.
