Center for Possibilities opens doors to special children
MANILA, Philippines - The month of March opened the door to countless possibilities for children with developmental disabilities, as Center for Possibilities, Inc. celebrated the blessing of their headquarters in Mandaluyong City.
“For two years, our foundation has worked hard to build a place that will serve as a haven of hope for children with developmental disabilities and their families,” Possibilities founder Dolores Cheng shares. “Through generous hearts, we have had the opportunity to finally have an office which will be solely dedicated to further the cause of special children.”
Guests of honor were the abandoned special children of the Virlanie Foundation. The gifted children, who were very good at drawing and painting, donated a few of their art works to the foundation. Other concerned and generous special children also contributed to the blessing by giving out hand-painted bottles, and hand-woven bags, which they made themselves. Many guests were encouraged to help by buying the artworks and bags sold during the event.
The proceeds of this project will go directly to the Special Children Fund of Center for Possibilities, Inc.
The highlight of the day came when charter president Maricris Lim of the Rotary Club of San Juan GEMS came to give the donation of the Rotary to Possibilities president Rene Reyes.
Since 2008, the Center for Possibilities Foundation has been working for the benefit of special children and their families. The foundation hosts a regular Parent Support Group every month and invites noted professionals to help parents of special children cope with their situation. The group also sponsors gift-giving activities for abandoned special children.
For people who are interested to help out or join the group’s monthly activities, the Center for Possibilities, Inc. is located at the first floor, Amaris 2 Bldg., 915 Luna Mencias St., Addition Hills, Mandaluyong City.
