Support group for parents of kids with special needs

-

MANILA, Philippines – The Center for Possibilities, Inc. (CFPI) is holding a support-group meeting for parents of children with special needs tomorrow, Aug. 12 at Reach School International, 67 Paseo de Roxas St., Makati City. This is in keeping with the foundation’s advocacy to enhance the lives of children with developmental disabilities and provide support to their parents.

CFPI is a non-governmental organization that aims to serve as a haven of hope for children with special needs and their family and friends. As a compassionate system of support, it strives to unite all resources to provide information, facilities, expertise, and experience for their nurturing, enrichment, and empowerment.

The foundation is rigorous in its efforts to help give the children a chance at a better life. These efforts include monthly support-group meetings, which allow the families to share and learn from one another’s experiences as well as draw valuable information from keynote speakers. Since the first support-group meeting, the number of regular attendees has ballooned. CFPI has also been receiving calls from various professionals and organizations, extending their help.

“The fact that more and more people are attending our get-togethers makes us really happy because it means that they found the support groups useful. Knowing that we are touching the lives of others and helping them cope with their challenges only drives us more,” says CFPI founder Dolores Cheng.
