Chains on Terrains Filicity mountain bike race winners

MANILA, Philippines – Despite the heavy downpour last May 30, bikers from Metro Manila and Batangas trooped to Westgate Center in Alabang to participate in the third “Chains on Terrains” mountain bike race presented by Festival Supermall.

Race categories included a Seniors Category that covers participants aged 21 to 29, Masters 1 Category for ages 30 to 39, and Masters 2 Category for racers 40 and above.

After all the grueling steep ascents and descents of the trail specially designed by MTBAddict, Roldan Antonio of Team All Terra captured the Seniors Category clocking in at 44:10.  Closing in on second was Robert De Los Reyes (49:40) of Team HBC while Philamer Ampatin (50:14) finished at third.

Masters 1 Category winners were: Jonathan Climaco (44:30), Edwin San Jose (45:01), and Rex Cortez (45:05), placing first, second, and third, respectively. 

In the Masters 2 Category emerged Edward Tuazon from GranTrail clocking in at 52:46. Isidro Ayubo (56:50) from Antipolo City who had a flat tire on his second lap still managed to place second, bagging the “Most Tenacious” biker award. Coming in at third was Ronald Bailan with 56:50.

Prizes were P5,000 cash for the first placer; P3,000 and P1,500 cash respectively for the second and third place winners plus a pair of Columbia footwear for the top three finishers in all categories. 

The awards were presented by Filinvest Commercial Centers head Bobby de Jesus and the event was supported by Columbia Sportswear and Royal Sporting House.  Cycling Zone, GranTrail, Bike Town Cyclery, and All Terra bikeshop gave out raffle prizes after the race.
