MANILA, Philippines - Kimberly Mahinay, Jomari Rios, Anne Bautista, and Rex Custorio are among the youth who have proven that children have the ability to shine as stars in dancesport.
All four trained under professional instructors of Studio 116 Dance School, a pioneer in group classics of international standards, Latin ballroom dancing, and dance sport team training.
Anne Bautista and Rex Custorio, both Manila Science High School alumni, started training under the Absolute Beginners program in 2006. By 2007, they bagged the first place, Sylllabus, Starball, and second place, Youth C Standard in a competition of the DanceSport Council of the Philippines. The following year, in the midyear ranking of the DanceSport Council of the Philippines, the tandem bagged second place, Youth A Standard. They ultimately won first place, Youth A Standard in the national competition of the DanceSport Council of the Philippines.
Like Anne and Rex, Kimberly Mahinay and Jomari Rios enrolled in the Absolute Beginners program of Studio 116 Dance School. They, too, made their mark in the DanceSport Council of the Philippines’ competitions. Both won second place, Juvenile Standard in the midyear ranking, and bagged the national championship prize in the Juvenile Standard in November last year.
Let your children benefit from Studio 116 Dance School’s Absolute Beginners program this summer. The program, which started yesterday, April 13, will have 12 sessions, including: KickStart Standard (tango, foxtrot, quickstep), KickStart Latin (cha cha cha, samba, jive) and KickHop (kiddie hiphop). At the end of the workshop, the students will have the opportunity to showcase what they learned in a grand recital.
