Promil caravan helps GK kids discover their promise

Students of Gawad Kalinga Sibol, the preschool program for Gawad Kalinga children, had a great time discovering and showcasing their talents when the Promil Pre-School Nurture Camp School Caravan recently visited their schools.

The Promil Pre-School Nurture Camp is a special activity that helps children discover their talents through fun learning workshops. Initially held in different malls in Metro Manila and key cities nationwide early this year, the Promil Pre-School Nurture Camp has now moved to pre-schools around the country to nurture the potential of more children. Since it started its first leg of the School Caravan last Sept. 25, the Promil Pre-School Nurture Camp continues to touch the hearts, stir the minds, and nourish the promise of young children all over the country.

However, this recent visit of the Promil Pre-School Nurture Camp School Caravan was a unique experience, since it was the first time that the attendees of the event were composed of four- to six-year- olds who belong to Gawad Kalinga Sibol.

“We’re really happy with this project because the Promil Pre-School Nurture Camp School Caravan is a clear example of how we can provide quality education, even for the less fortunate kids,” said Gawad Kalinga Sibol program head Aysa Oquiñena.

Before the program started, the children expressed their excitement by singing a round of songs and lullabies. The Promil Pre-School Nurture Camp School Caravan teachers didn’t let the children wait for long as they started the event with a small lesson about the true meaning of nurturing. Completely revved up and ready to nurture their talents, each student was eager to participate and experience the workshops planned for them.

After that, the children participated in another discovery through the dance workshop.

“The children learned a lot from the Promil Pre-School Nurture Camp School Caravan as they truly expressed their talents through the workshops,” said Meldrid Doloog, a Gawad Kalinga Sibol teacher from Gawad Kalinga - Selecta Community. “We just saw how the children enjoyed the Nurture Camp, so we’d like to thank Promil Pre-School for this blessing.”
