Optimizing your child's potential

Turn mall trips with your children into optimal learning experiences with the help of Wyeth’s Minds in Progress. These series of nationwide mall events will provide children various opportunities to hone their developmental skills and educate parents on how to help their kids reach their maximum potential. 

In partnership with Camp Explore, each mall event will feature five learning stations for two fun-filled days. Every station will highlight certain activities such as necklace-making, science experiments, a maze, storytelling. and a waste segregation race to playfully engage the developmental skills of children.

According to experts, children at this crucial stage should be given a chance to harness their cognitive, gross motor, fine motor, language, social, emotional and self-help skills as early as possible. Studies show that it is at this age when children’s brains are highly sensitive to input, making them primed for optimal development. As children get older, “brain connectors” that are rarely used are pruned. The earlier they are used, the more learning will occur. Through proper stimulation activities, children will be provided with positive learning experiences that will hugely impact their growth. Learning to use their senses early will teach them to communicate, analyze, socialize, and adapt to new things to the utmost of their abilities.

The learning stations are designed to tap into one or more of the developmental skills. Depending on a child’s progress, he can do the activities alone or with parents and the facilitators.
