EA re-releasing 'The Sims,' 'The Sims 2' for 25th anniversary

MANILA, Philippines — Video game company Electronic Arts (EA) is re-releasing its popular simulation "The Sims" and its immediate sequel to celebrate the former's 25th anniversary.
Both with be available on personal computers via Steam, the EA App, and Epic Games Store as "Legacy Collection" titles. They are also included in a special "Birthday Bundle" with other bonus content.
EA even released a trailer blending real life to iconic simulation moments from the game, from endless Simlish conversations to getting stuck in a swimming pool.
"Simmers can play with the iconic characters, sounds, and music of some of the games that pioneered the life simulation genre and welcomed so many players into The Sims community," EA said in a statement.

"The Sims: Legacy Collection" will also include expansion packs, "Livin’ Large," "House Party," "Hot Date," "Vacation," "Unleashed," "Superstar," and "Makin' Magic," along with "The Sims 4: Throwback Fit Kit."
"The Sims 2: Legacy Collection," meanwhile, will have "University," "Nightlife," "Open for Business," "Pets," "Bon Voyage," "Seasons," "FreeTime," "Apartment Life," "Holiday Party Pack," "Family Fun Stuff," "Glamour Life Stuff," "Happy Holiday Stuff," "Celebration! Stuff," "H&M Fashion Stuff," "Teen Style Stuff," "Kitchen & Bath Interior Design Stuff," and "Mansion & Garden Stuff," along with “The Sims 4: Grunge Revival Kit."
Since its launch in 2000, "The Sims" franchise has sold almost 200 million copies around the world.
The last main game, "The Sims 4," marked its 10th anniversary last year, becoming the franchise's longest-running installment. EA said at the time it would focus on giving Sims 4 more expansions rather than work on a successor. — Video from The Sims YouTube channel
