10 ways your iPhone 6 Plus can make your life easier

MANILA, Philippines – The iPhone 6 Plus is undoubtedly one of the most coveted devices today. But there are definitely a number of reasons why it is so. Aside from the large screen, high-quality display and fun camera features, the iPhone 6 Plus makes the smartphone experience a lot easier and definitely more exciting.  Here are 10 ways it does so:

1. It shows you a better view of things.

Who doesn’t love a large screen that shows high-quality display? The 5.5-inch screen of the iPhone 6 Plus not only shows you amazing display quality but also allows you to view almost everything in landscape mode.

On landscape mode, the keyboard shows you additional keys. You can also view your messages while using the email app in split screen view. The landscape feature is exclusive to iPhone 6 Plus. That’s quite a perk for getting a larger iPhone 6.

2. It can make the top icons easier to reach.

If you have been using an iPhone for years, you might find it difficult to adjust to the bigger dimensions of the iPhone 6 Plus. But don’t worry. Apple seemed to have anticipated this, that’s why they developed the Reachability feature.

This feature allows you to easily reach the icons from the top of the screen by tapping the home button twice. This also lets you use the 6 Plus with one hand, just like the earlier iPhone models.

3. It fills out credit card details for you.

It is often a hassle to have to input all those numbers of your credit card in order to purchase something online. In iOS 8, you don’t have to do that anymore. You can let your iPhone 6 Plus scan your credit card and it will key in the numbers for you. The security code, however, will still have to be manually typed into the designated field.

4. It can point you to its exact location if you lost it.

Left your iPhone 6 Plus somewhere and couldn’t find it anymore? Don’t panic! The Find My iPhone feature of your device can help you find your iPhone even if it’s out of battery or signal. To set this, go to Settings > iCloud > Find my iPhone then tick Find my iPhone and Send Last Location. This way, Apple can tell you where your iPhone is exactly as it regularly records your device’s last location.

5. You can get Siri to work by calling out to her.

Apple has made hands-free personal assistant available in iOS 8 devices. You can call Siri’s attention now by simply saying, “Hey Siri!” But your device needs to be plugged in for this feature to work.

6. It allows you to choose the browsing history item you want to delete.

The earlier models of iPhone do allow you to delete the browsing history in Safari. But the problem was it’s either you delete everything or delete nothing. In the latest version of iOS, you can now select only the items you wish to delete from Safari’s browsing history.

7. Siri can name the song playing around you.

You like the song you hear playing around you and you wish to include it in your playlist. But the problem as always is you can’t identify the title of the song or the artist or both. With Apple’s partnership with Shazam, you can now ask Siri to name the song playing around you. Just ask her, “What song is this?” She’ll ask you then to give her a moment to listen to the song and she’ll give you an answer right away.

8. It offers formatting tools for your notes.

You can now be more creative when taking notes with your iPhone 6 Plus. The latest iOS allows you to format text and insert photos by including these options and some formatting tools in the app.

9. You can reply from within the notification center.

You don’t have to leave the app you’re currently using anymore whenever the notification center pops up. When your iPhone 6 Plus alerts you of a new message, especially if it’s an urgent one, you can quickly reply from within the notification center without exiting any app.

10. It quickly brings you to the top of any lists.

It’s tiring and sometimes annoying to have to repeatedly swipe your iPhone’s screen down just to get to the top of a list (contacts, messages, etc.).  You no longer have to do that now in your iPhone 6 Plus. By simply tapping the topmost portion of your device (the part where the clock is), you can quickly get to the top of the page.
