Facebook adds auto enhance feature for photo sharing

MANILA, Philippines – Social apps are all competing for better filters to assist users with better photo sharing.

Since Instagram has started promoting filters, other social apps have followed the trend. Google added an automatic enhancement feature last year while Twitter overhauled its filtering interface. Following these, Facebook rolled out a feature taken from Google’s playbook.

Not everyone is a professional photographer but  wouldn’t it be nice to upload a picture perfect selfie sometimes, if not all the time? In lieu of that,  Facebook has revamped its photo sharing feature.

Starting today,  photos uploaded on Facebook using an iPhone will now be automatically enhanced with fixed lighting, shadows and improved clarity. TechCrunch reported that the feature comes with a single and simple slider that allows the user to manually control the amount of auto-enhancement.

The goal of the feature is to share well-lit and visually pleasing shots through Facebook without using a separate photo enhancement app.
