MANILA, Philippines - Mobile device company HTC and its telco partner Smart Communications Inc. unveiled on Thursday night its latest smartphone targeting entertainment junkies, netizens, and multi-tasking professionals.

HTC formally launched the Windows Phone 8X at the Jump Service Experience Center at the SM Megamall Cyberzone.

The new smartphone was made to blend the virtual and the physical, utilizing a three dimensional, pure uni-body design based on the Windows Phone Live Tiles. It is sculpted with a taper, making it feel thinner and lighter in the hand.

“We are glad to partner with Smart Communications in order to bring the Windows Phone 8X by HTC experience to even more people. The bundled data plan will let the users fully realize the potential and lifestyle benefits of the Windows 8 OS,” said HTC Philippines Country Manager, Richard Javier.

The phone’s 88° ultra-wide angle front-facing camera allows more than four people to be captured at once, as well as a 1080p video capture—giving point-shoot-upload a new definition.

With the Windows Phone 8X by HTC, users can also carry their favorite music, movies and photos with them wherever they go through going online and visiting Windows Phone Store and Xbox Live.
