Pong

MANILA, Philippines - Pong is one of the earliest arcade video games; it is a tennis sports game featuring simple, two-dimensional graphics. Pong was one of the first video games to reach mainstream popularity. The aim is to defeat the opponent in a simulated table tennis game by earning a higher score. The game was originally manufactured by Atari Incorporated (Atari), which released it in 1972. 

Pong quickly became a success and is the first commercially successful video game, which led to the start of the video game industry. Pong has been referenced and parodied in multiple television shows and video games, and has been a part of several video game and cultural exhibitions.

Dr. Robotnic in Sonic

Sonic the Hedgehog is the title character and protagonist of the Sonic the Hedgehog series released by Sega, as well as in numerous spin-off comics, cartoons, and a feature film.

Doctor Ivo Robotnik, a.k.a. Doctor Eggman, is a video game character and the main antagonist of Sega’s Sonic the Hedgehog series. Dr. Eggman is a rotund mad scientist with an IQ of 300 who plans to conquer the world in order to build his Eggman Empire, and is the archenemy of Sonic the Hedgehog. Most of the time, Dr. Eggman is portrayed as horribly immature: he tends to throw temper tantrums when he fails or is offended, despite his incredible intellect and skilled mind.

Pac-man

Pac-Man is an arcade game developed by Namco and licensed for distribution in the United States by Midway, first released in Japan on May 22, 1980. Pac-Man is considered one of the classics of the medium, virtually synonymous with video games, and an icon of 1980s popular culture. When Pac-Man was released, the most popular arcade video games were space shooters, in particular Space Invaders and Asteroids. Pac-Man succeeded by creating a new genre and appealing to both genders. Pac-Man is often credited with being a landmark in video game history, and is among the most famous arcade games of all time.

Bowser in Super Mario

Super Mario is a 1985 video game developed by Nintendo. In Super Mario Bros., the player controls Mario as he travels through the Mushroom Kingdom in order to rescue Princess Toadstool from the antagonist Bowser. The success of Super Mario Bros. has caused it to be ported to almost every one of Nintendo’s major gaming consoles. The player takes on the role of the main protagonist of the series, Mario. The objective is to race through the Mushroom Kingdom, survive the main antagonist Bowser’s forces and save Princess Toadstool.   

Sugar rush

Vanellope von Schweetz is a video game character originating from the kart racing game Sugar Rush. She meets a video game villain named Wreck-It Ralph from the game Fix-It Felix Jr., who is on a journey of changing his role from villain to hero. Being a child, Vanellope is rather talkative and energetic. Upon meeting Ralph, she insistently annoys him with her questions and mimicking. Her dream is to kart race with the other characters in her game but King Candy, the ruler of the Sugar Rush kingdom, prevents her from doing so because she is considered a glitch in the game, making her an outcast like Ralph. She is repeatedly bullied by the other racers in the game, most notably Taffyta Muttonfudge. She resides in a secret area in the Diet Cola Mountain volcano.

Q*BERT (and various villains from his game)

Q*bert is an arcade video game developed and published by Gottlieb in 1982. It is a platform game that features two-dimensional (2D) graphics. The object is to change the color of every cube in a pyramid by making the onscreen character jump on top of the cube while avoiding obstacles and enemies. The game was conceived by Warren Davis and Jeff Lee.
