Capturing Austria via the Sony Xperia P
MANILA, Philippines - I have always been impressed with the imaging prowess of Sony mobile phones. It is no different now with the Sony Xperia P as its 8MP rear camera delivers really good, acceptably sharp pictures in very well-lit environments. Bringing it with me during my recent personal trip to Europe was a no brainer as the Sony Exmor R f2.4 lens is a quick performer.
This is barely a review of the phone as I intend to focus more on the imaging capabilities of the Sony Xperia P.
Check out the slideshow below featuring a couple of pictures I took with it (none of the photos have been enhanced in any manner):
Landscape night shots will understandably have noise but in bright daylight, the colors really pop up without it becoming too saturated. It's also worth mentioning that this phone also features Sony's WhiteMagic technology. What it is, is an extra white subpixel to the display and what it does is maximize visibility outdoors so you really get to see the complete picture before you take it with this phone.
The same rear camera is capable of recording full 1080p HD videos and at 30 fps, quality is better than most camera phones in this category. Connect it to your LCD/LED screen via HDMI and you'll notice that sharpness could be a little better--for videos at least as pictures come out looking good.
