MANILA, Philippines - Smart Communications, Inc. recently gathered over a hundred seafarers’ wives in Cebu, marking another leg of the nationwide “Love Ko Si Misis Super Caravan.”
The Cebu leg, held in partnership with Wallem Maritime Services, Inc. and other institutions, provided the participants with practical tips on health and wellness, financial management, and entrepreneurship, given their challenge of being miles apart from their seafaring husbands.
The event also highlighted various Smart services that help seafaring Filipinos stay in touch with their families back home, including Smart Link, the first and only Philippine prepaid satellite phone service that provides incoming and outgoing voice calls at sea.
“We are glad that our partnership with Smart continues to grow over the years, and we are able to provide enriching events like this to the members of WOW Cebu,“ said Artemio Serafico, General Manager of Wallem Maritime Services, Inc.
The event also highlighted how Smart users can continue to keep in touch with families while onboard seagoing vessels through Smart Link’s newest feature, Smart Link GSM, which was launched recently.
