RealFlex technology by Reebok

MANILA, Philippines - Reebok recently launched the “Reebok Experience Zone,” an event that unfurled both CrossFit, the revolutionary strength and conditioning program, and RealFlex, Reebok’s latest footwear technology engineered with independent multi-directional nodes that promotes natural movement and flexibility, in the country.

The Reebok Experience Zone actually offered consumers an opportunity to participate in the “Crossfit Challenge,” a campaign that aims to change the way people perceive, define and experience fitness, and ultimately show the world that fitness can deliver everything they love about the sport.

“Reebok hopes to introduce to the market not just CrossFit but also our new brand the Reebok RealFlex with this historic launching,” said Yoya Maglaya, sales and marketing manager of RSH Marketing Philippines, Inc., distributor of Reebok in the country, in Friday night’s event launch at Eastwood Fuente Circle in Libis, Quezon City.

Part of the launch is for consumers to test the new shoe technology as well as the new fitness regimen that has been in the world stage for over three decades now, culminating in the World CrossFit Games.

In fact, the Philippines, with the help of Reebok, will have a representative in the Asian Crossfit Regional slated May 4-6 in Seoul, South Korea — a 35-year-old weekend warrior in Paulo Tatad.

Tatad, who was basically a weightlifter before trying other fitness regimens and eventually becoming a CrossFitter, opened his campaign last February and March and thanks to his strong efforts made it to the top 60 in the region to become the first Filipino to make it to the regionals.

And if he works hard enough and performs spectacularly, he’ll have a chance to clinch the one and only spot in the World CrossFit Games where he’ll have a chance to compete against the best and brightest in the world.

“I’m proud to become the first Filipino to qualify in the regionals and I hope I could do good there and maybe finish in the top 10 or top 20,” said Tatad.

Reebok, which has partnered with CrossFit as early as two years ago, opened its first Reebok CrossFit box dubbed Reebok CrossFit One for employees at its global headquarters in September two years ago and by doing so become a part of the sport’s worldwide network of affiliated gyms.

Reebok has also supported CrossFit’s program and community through a number of initiatives and activities including sponsoring the 2012 Reebok CrossFit Games that Tatad participated on and additional Reebok CrossFit box openings.

The Reebok Experience Zone is a free and interactive retail event for consumers of all ages to participate in popular malls in the country. Visitors can take part in a “CrossFit Challenge” by trying on RealFlex shoes and various CrossFit movements including Box Jump, Jump rope and Air Squat.
