MANILA, Philippines - Since its official launch, Jump Experience Center has become the premiere lifestyle technology and innovations hub for technophiles in the country.
Jump, which features the latest in the world of communications and connectivity, powered by the converged services of PLDT and Smart Communications, Inc., is a major destination for Filipinos who want to discover the joys and perks of the techno-driven life.
Located in one of the country’s biggest commercial districts, particularly within SM Megamall’s Cyberzone, Jump offers the Pinoy tech consumers something unique.
“What sets Jump apart from all the tech shops around the city is that it is not a store. We do not peddle goods. We provide experience,” said Joy Sanchez, head of Smart’s customer care. “Anybody is welcome to enter Jump and treat it as his own digital playground. They are free to see, touch and use everything on display.”
And Jump has everything to whet the appetite of the tech aficionado or just to address the curiosity of digital newbies. In fact, Jump boasts an array of devices such as smartphones, tablets and laptops, some of which aren’t even launched in the Philippines yet.
“Before making that next big device purchase, one must first know the product very well to be sure if it’s right for his or her lifestyle and if it is a good investment,” said Sanchez. “Normally, one would search the Internet and read user reviews and opinions. Now, they can test and experience the products for themselves.”
Jump has served as a public “testbed” for up-and-coming devices from several manufacturers such as Samsung, Apple, HTC, Blackberry, Nokia and even PLDT and Smart’s homegrown innovations like the TelPad, the Netphone and their various high-speed Internet solutions like HSPA+ and LTE. This gave Pinoy consumers the opportunity to “feel” the products and services in order to find their perfect tech fit.
Jump is not just for the advanced tech geeks. It is open to everyone who wants to learn more about life made better through technologies and innovations available today.
The experience center has become an ideal destination for student technology tour groups, attracting students and faculty/administrators from schools both in Metro Manila and in the provinces. It has also welcomed the engineering and IT students who were selected by Smart to be their scholars under the Smart Wireless Engineering Education Program (SWEEP).
For the walk-in visitors, the Jump Squad members are available to walk them through PLDT and Smart’s unmatched portfolio of products, services and innovations for individual connectivity, home, enterprise and international communications. They are also ready to share some tech tips and usage techniques when it comes to the latest gadgets and devices.
Jump is also offering free “Springboard Sessions,” a different kind of learning experience for those who would like to know more about current tech trends.
And for bloggers, online groups and specialized tech groups such as online entrepreneurs and web and app developers, Jump has also served as an appropriate venue for their meet-ups, events and conferences.
For most of Jump visitors however, nothing beats the thrill of having the chance to take home the outstanding devices being exhibited in Jump.
“Our visitors love promos,” said Sanchez. “We have already given away Netphones to Jump visitors who joined our photo contest last month. Expect us to open more contests as we launch more new innovations.”
Aside from the in-house contests, Jump has also served as a launch pad for PLDT and Smart’s promotions. PLDT earlier hosted their TeleRewards campaign inside Jump, while Smart recently announced its promo with mobile browser Opera Mini that gives subscribers chance to win a Mini Cooper.
“We are creating a mix for Jump that is not just centered on gadgets and products,” said Sanchez. “We make sure that the Jump experience is also fun, social, convenient and rewarding. In short, we make sure that the Jump experience reflects the Filipino technology lifestyle — life enhanced by the technology and innovations made available to us today by PLDT and Smart.”
