MANILA, Philippines - John Paulo “JP” Baticulon, a 15-year- old high school student from UPHR Las Pinas, recently conquered the mobile gaming world of Barking Seed when he beat other gamers in the Asia Pacific region and became the runner-up last May and the grand prize winner last June, winning himself a Nokia X6 and other Nokia premium items.

Barking Seed is a mobile games community available for download from the Ovi Store that releases games with online and social elements. It is currently built for Nokia devices with games available for both touch and keypad phones. Since Barking Seed went public in May, they have reached over 1 million downloads off of Ovi Store.

“I discovered Barking Seed while I was searching for games in the Ovi Store. I was curious so I decided to check their site, saw the ongoing competition and started playing the game,” shares JP Baticulon. He got so hooked on playing using his Nokia 5530 XpressMusic that he battled it out with other gamers in other parts of the world for two months while he was on his summer break.

“I like the Barking Seed game since I can submit scores via Wi-Fi for other people to see and beat. With these games, I can show the world how good I am in playing mobile games. The hardest part was trying to get the highest score but eventually I was able to do it after a month,” he shares. Aside from Barking Seed, JP also enjoys playing other games, which he downloaded for free from Ovi Store like Tower Bloxx, Farm Frenzy, Ovi Maps Racing, Block Go, Sim City Metropolis, Monopoly, Tetris and Sims 3. “My friends and I play Raging Thunder on our mobile phones. We love it!” He added that he loves downloading applications like Fring, YouTube, Playlist DJ, Shazam, and TuneWiki, which are all available from Ovi Store.
