MANILA, Philippines - Everybody’s favorite mouse returns to the fashion frontlines as retail powerhouse Folded & Hung unveils its Mickey Mouse collection. Following in the footsteps of high fashion designers and brands like Jeremy Scott and Marc Jacobs (Comme des Garcons and Opening Ceremony, respectively), Folded & Hung borrows the cartoon icon’s face, big ears and white gloves to create cool clothes and accessories for men and women. Expect to see funky fresh with a mix of mischief in the Mickey Mouse-printed tees, pique shirts, jerseys, hoodies, backpacks and snapback caps for men; and boxy tees, collared shirts, pullovers, jackets, matching separates, dresses and totes for the ladies. Mickey Mouse fans and fashion fiends will love the fact that Folded & Hung’s collection offers classic pieces, graphic tees, sportswear-inspired styles and vibrant matching sets. Clearly, there’s something for the classically inclined as well as retro-futurists.
Folded & Hung also tapped four bright young individuals as ambassadors for its Mickey Mouse collection. The men’s collection is represented by college studs Gil Cuerva and Jules Aquino. Gil, a college student from Ateneo de Manila, does print and commercial modeling, while Jules is an athlete-model from UP Diliman. The ladies’ collection is fronted by fresh faces Janeena Chan and Patty Tiu. Janeena is a young multi-hyphenate — blogger, host, model and entrepreneur — who graduated from Ateneo de Manila. Patty, on the other hand, is a club DJ who promises night owls a good time with her taste and talent in music.
Folded & Hung’s Mickey Mouse collection is, without a doubt, fun, fresh and fashionable. It offers classic as well as trendy pieces for all style moods and occasions. For sure, the collection will be just as iconic as its perennial “it” boy — er, mouse.
