MANILA, Philippines - For autumn-winter 2014, Burton pushes past its own limits, going beyond the trends and creating its own distinct fashion culture. Revolving around winter sports, the collection is fueled by creative designs that laud men’s ideas and aspirations about the coming together of what’s fashionable and cozy, athletic yet relaxed. The brand’s signature aesthetics include rich browns, navvy blues, emerald greens, and berry hues — the benchmark palette of the season.
Burton covers men’s fashion requirements from everyday casual looks to classic tailoring. The Southbank collection is a casual range highlighting soft jersey fabrics in a core palette of grey marl, sapphire and midnight. Burton’s trademark shell jackets are layered with graphic tees underneath, creating a hip and laidback city-boy look.
With the Urban Expedition line, key pieces are streamlined for the sporty. The outdoorsy trend spans from lightweight anoraks to flannel shirts. The trend is about layering up the look with check prints contrasted against classics, like the Fair Isle knits and gray marl jersey.
Burton also makes a nod to the ‘60s with the Retro Mod story. Drawing influence from this incredible time in fashion history, the collection moves away from the traditional and takes a more vintage, inspired approach. Rose and plum tones sit alongside grays and neutrals on luxe, textured fabrics. Slim-fit suiting is paired with classic button down shirts, fine gauge knitwear and classic outerwear. Chevron and Herringbone patterns are paired with the heavy-duty leather bomber and biker jackets that enhance any look with a tinge of luxury while maintaining its casual spin.
And finally, the Rock Lux line. This trend embraces a deep, dark color palette of claret reds, midnight blues and blacks that would cover the Burton man right through the “party season.” Eveningwear comprises slim and skinny fit tailoring that bids a contemporary take on the traditional with shades of grape, merlot and teal shirting giving the standard monochrome tux a modish and more fashionable attitude.
