The future of footwear
Lacoste Footwear draws inspiration from the future and reveals its most fashion-forward collection yet during the launch of its 2009 collection at the Rockwell Tent.
Hosted by Sam Oh and Rovilson Fernandez, the program revealed the latest designs from Lacoste’s three lines: Club, Sports and Sportswear line. Gracing the event was the chairman and president of Pentstar Sports Inc., exclusive distributor of Lacoste Footwear in the Philippines, Frido Ong with the regional director of Pentland Asia Pacific, Jackie Wu.
The upcoming collection showcased a prism of styles, colors and textures as Lacoste looked to a variety of sources for design inspiration — trendy hotspots, its sporting heritage and other iconic fashion trends.
“We really tried to look to the future, to target that consumer base and produce exciting products,” said international design director Gareth Evans in explaining the design philosophy behind the new collection.
Among the highlights of the new collection is the chic Capri-inspired Ladies Sportswear line. Blazing yellows, aqua pastels and nautical elements bring up visions of fun in this sun-drenched tropical paradise as you set sail clad in this line’s fashionable sneakers and ballerina boat shoes. Then moving from the beach to the countryside, the Men’s Sportswear line goes back to nature with rugged designs and earth tones perfect for both streets and peaks.
For those looking to bring on the funk and fun, Lacoste Footwear invites ladies to Miami with a Sports and Sportswear line inspired by this dazzling city’s art deco motifs and neon colors. Meanwhile, the Men’s Sportswear line takes gentlemen to the streets of Stockholm and Milan with a Euro-Modernist look that’s clean, classy and sophisticated.
Bold colors and fun patterns characterize Lacoste’s Sports collection for both men and women this season. The Men’s Sports line draws inspiration from Lacoste’s strong sporting heritage in tennis and running, and infuses it with eye-catching color while the women’s collection features a modern retro twist with its striking color choices and playful jacquard print design.
Lacoste Footwear’s Club collection is chic street-style at its finest. The men’s collection offers slick and stylish contemporary designs, using colors and materials inspired by the ‘20s, while the Women’s collection looks to the boulevards of Paris for its classic elegance, bringing vintage styles back to the forefront of fashion.
