Wear it like Pac-Man

All eyes will be on the Philippines’ pride, Manny Pacquiao, this Dec. 6 as he takes on one of boxing’s greatest icons, Oscar “Golden Boy” de la Hoya.

World boxing champion in four weight divisions and world’s best pound-for-pound boxer, Manny Pacquiao is gearing up for the fight of his life and Nike’s got his back — literally.

In support of Manny Pacquiao’s upcoming fight, Nike released new Manny Pacquiao Nike FIT-DRY T-shirts available at Nike stores nationwide.

The T-shirt is inspired by Filipino culture, incorporating the national colors of blue and red. The T-shirt includes the specially made Nike-Manny Pacquiao identity crest with a graphic image of Manny Pacquiao as the main design.

Taking inspiration from Manny Pacquiao’s athletic achievements, “The Heart of a Champion” and “Four Titles: One Man” copy is bannered on the front with Nike’s “Just Do It” battle cry encrypted at the back.

“Manny Pacquiao has achieved great heights as an athlete and has been catapulted as an icon into the international boxing scene. In its third year of partnership, Nike is still proud and privileged to have him on the company’s roster of athletes,” says Mae Dichupa, Nike Philippines country marketing manager. “Nike is in full support of what could probably be the greatest fight of his life this December. Every Filipino can also show their support for our athlete by wearing the specially designed Nike-Manny Pacquiao T-shirts come fight day.”

Aside from the new Nike T-shirts, the brand also rolled out a national campaign to rally the entire nation for Manny. Campaign billboards are also up at EDSA Santolan and C5 to rally motorists and the public for the much-anticipated match-up. Fans can also express their support online at nike.com.ph.

Manny Pacquiao has defeated top-ranked boxers throughout his entire boxing career and this Dec. 6, he will go against Oscar de la Hoya in what people have dubbed as the fight of the millennium.

The Nike Manny Pacquiao T-shirt is available in two colors — red and white — at Nike stores nationwide selling at the standard retail price of P895.
