MANILA, Philippines — A dégustation of wines from Maison Bukana, co-owned by actress Nadine Lustre and her boyfriend Christophe Bariou, are among the highlights of the upcoming month-long Goût de France celebrations this June.
The event, "Good France" in English, introduced nine years ago by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs in partnership with chef Alain Ducasse, will open on June 1 with a Weekend Market celebrating French gastronomy.
French cuisine from a number of fine dining restaurants and hotels will take the spotlight as Filipinos get the chance to experience or discover some iconic French specialties.

On June 2, Goût de France will observe Car-Free Sunday and treat runners and bikers to croissants and coffee at the French Market, then in the afternoon, there will be the traditional race of waiters.
The Maison Bukana wine tasting will be on June 12 in Edsa Shangri-la Plaza's Marketplace Supermarket in Mandaluyong, coordinated by the French Chamber of Commerce, where Nadine and Christophe will be present to show their selections.
The wines are named after the resort Christophe's family owns in Siargao, "maison" being French for "house" and "bukana," a local word referring to the opening of a body of water.
