MANILA, Philippines — Hearts are a-flutter on Valentine’s Day because people who are in love waste no time in telling each other how they feel. One way of saying "I love you" is through food.
Why not make delicious chocolate fudge brownies for your special someone and stud it with chocolate hearts? This simple recipe from The Maya Kitchen just might come in handy.
Chocolate Heart Fudge Brownies
INGREDIENTS:
1 pack Maya Chocolate Fudge Brownie Mix 500g
1/2 cup butter, softened
2 eggs
1 tbsp. water
1/2 cup chopped cashew nuts
melted dark chocolate, as needed
chocolate heart cut-outs, as needed
whipped cream (optional)
PROCEDURE:
1. Preheat oven to 325°F or 163°C. Grease and line the bottom of an 8-inch square pan. Set aside.
2. In a bowl, stir the brownie mix, butter, water, eggs and nuts (set some aside for topping) until the mixture is well-blended.
3. Spread mixture in prepared pan and top with reserved nuts. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes.
4. Cool completely before cutting. Drizzle or spread melted chocolate on top of the brownies and decorate as desired.
