WATCH: Bread haven Busan cafe in South Korea

Kathleen A. Llemit - Philstar.com

BUSAN, South Korea — If one happens to be in Busan, South Korea, there is a destination that has been gaining fans for its beautiful view of Busan harbor, which can be enjoyed while sipping a good cup of coffee (or tea!) and a generous portion of one's favorite pastry.

Arguably, South Korea is a bread haven. It is evident by the many coffee shops and specialty bread stores in capital Seoul and even in surrounding areas, like the port city of Busan.

There's one particular place in the southeastern city that lures visitors to its fold for its aesthetics and delightful bread/pastry offerings.

P.Ark or Platform of Art for Creators in Yeongdo-gu is aptly called because it is a park that caters to the arts and leisure segment.

The multilevel building sits perfectly in a place that provides its visitors a view of the Busan harbor, with the landmark Oryukdo Island on view.

Its fixture and furniture are works of art themselves, carved not out of traditional shapes, but of quirky bends that spark conversation among strangers.

The food in its many concessionaires are also mostly pleasing to the eyes, and the pastries, in particular, beckon one to fill up a tray or two, brimming with pieces of cream-filled croissants, apple-shaped pastries, madeleines, heavenly cakes and bagels.

What's impressive with these pastries are their generous sizes, with many even bigger than an average person's palm!
