MANILA, Philippines — Summer is not about just the waves of the sea and the inviting warmth of the sand and the beach. If you're looking for a unique adventure, a hiking trip mixed with a little food crawl in Bulacan with its hidden gems may just be for you.
North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) Corp. recently hosted a media trip for us recently, and we got to explore some cool spots in the North, particularly Bulacan. If you are looking to organize a trekking adventure with a fun food trip on the side a few hours from Manila, then here's your guide:
Tila Pilon Hills Cafe by Kape Provincia
A short drive from Manila and we were at the infamous Tila Pilon Hills Cafe by Kape Provincia, which was by the foot of the Tila Pilon Hills in Doña Remedios Trinidad, Bulacan.
If you're aching for some delectable food session by the nature after a good hike, this cafe by Kape Provincia is your best choice. Right after trekking Tila Pilon Hills, this cafe is a good treat and relaxation spot as it offers delicious ice-cold coffee drinks, yummy sandwiches and pasta, and sumptuous breakfast meals.
One should not miss the mouthwatering Ginataang Tuna Panga or Tuna with Coconut Milk, as it's truly a representative of the rich flavors of Filipino cuisine that we sometimes forget or overlook. Whether you decide to eat here first before hiking, or right after your trek, the food will definitely satisfy your cravings, with your dining experience made better by the fresh vibe of nature.
Digo's Cafe
Another amazing spot you can hang out in after exploring the lush greens on the way to the popular Digo’s Hills View Deck, and after enjoying the fresh air while enjoying the panoramic view of the Sierra Madre Mountains, is Digo's Cafe.
Digo's Cafe makes a perfect spot to enjoy a cup of Talbak Coffee, a homegrown brew of Doña Remedios Trinidad in Bulacan, so you're sure to pamper yourself with the beauty of Sierra Madre and a relaxing coffee session.
Pong Guyz Bulalohan
After enjoying Digo's Hills, Tila Pilon Hills and enjoying the waters of Tila Pilon falls, Pong Guyz Bulalohan in Doña Remedios Trinidad in Bulacan is another must-not-miss. The bulalohan is truly a popular must-try, and locals and tourists alike truly visit the dining place for its flavorful Pinoy bulalo.
There are different ways to incorporate food and adventure in one go, especially with Bulacan, with its nearness from the metro.
