It’s a synergy between two like-minded brands.
Bench Cafe is a partnership between Ben Chan’s Suyen Corp. and Foodee Global Concepts, and this was sealed in a toast led by Bench endorser Brooklyn Beckham, together with Suyen VP Bryan Lim and Eric “Cheeno” Dee, COO of Foodee.
Cheeno Dee sums up why the synergy works: “Growing up in a very tightly knit family, I saw how my parents (Rikki and Beng Dee) and Uncle Ben had a mutual admiration for each other. In a way, my parents did the same as far as creating a brand from scratch and working on what it is today. Uncle Ben is such a visionary and icon, and we are proud to collaborate with him as he achieves his vision for Bench.
“For Bench Cafe, we dissected the classic Pinoy favorites to make them a better version of what your lola or nanay used to make. And we use all-Filipino ingredients, from the coffee beans to the chocolates.
“You can say we have a glamorized version of a turo-turo through the Benchto meal, with two ulam, rice, sawsawan and atchara, priced at P200-P450.
“I like our halo-halo, which is uniquely done in a process inspired by our neighbors in Asia. Which one? Secret!”
