Why does everyone’s look forward to Fridays?

For pencil-pushers (students) and money-makers (the work force), Friday evening means they’ve got a whole weekend ahead of them — they can stay up late, sleep in till Saturday morning, or spend time with family and friends over good food and booze to while the blues away. Besides, it’s the only day of the week that is called “Good (Friday)” once a year.

I guess that also explains why American businessman Alan Stillman named his bar and restaurant TGIFridays — to give people a place to unwind and have a good time after a hard day’s work.

In celebration of its 21st year in the Philippines, The Bistro Group continues to spread the fun, TGIFridays’ energetic vibe and great dining experience to the south as it opens four  new branches at these locations: Evia Lifestyle Center in Daang Hari, Las Piñas; Solenad in Nuvali; McKinley Hill in Taguig; and in the island of Boracay. There will be 20 stores by January 2016, an aggressive expansion move by the company.

This holiday season, TGIFridays offers Shareable Platters, an array of belly-busting combinations- the Smokehouse Platter and the Jack Daniel’s Platter meant for sharing by up to 3 persons.

Loaded with smoked fried chicken and char-grilled sausages served with rice pilaf, the Smokehouse Platter also comes with a plateful of Chipotle Cheese Balls to whet the appetite.

Jack Daniel’s Platter, on the other hand, tempts the palate with tender ribs basted with signature Jack Daniel’s sauce and served with fresh corn on the cob, rice pilaf and Golden Chipotle Cheese Balls. Chicken lovers can opt for the half-chicken.
