Chef Nobu Matsuhisa to visit City of Dreams
MANILA, Philippines - World-renowned Japanese culinary genius chef Nobu Matsuhisa will visit City of Dreams Manila’s Nobu Hotel on Wednesday, March 18, to personally helm the kitchen at an exclusive dinner.
Born and raised in Saitama, Japan, Nobu served a rigorous apprenticeship at a respected sushi bar in Tokyo. It was not long before his dreams of seeing the world moved him to open a sushi bar in Peru. A classically trained sushi chef, Nobu was challenged by the new culture and regional ingredients, which kindled his inventive style, known today as Nobu Style.
The acclaimed chef’s culinary empire spans 36 restaurants in 31 cities and five continents. Guests at Nobu Hotel Manila will be able to savor his signature contemporary artistic fusion and mouthwatering cuisine in a special menu that features chef Nobu’s internationally acclaimed specialties, including spectacular Nobu-style sushi and black cod with miso.
The special chef Nobu-inspired dinner will have a multi-course menu including: mixed sashimi salad with red and green jalapeño dressing; a four-way tasting with Grouper New Style, Chu Toro wasabi salsa, Mamakari Namban-zuke, and lobster quinoa ceviche; Nobu’s acclaimed sushi course; black cod with jalapeño miso; Wagyu Eringi with red onion shiso salsa; heart of palm noodle soup; and shaved ice.
The chef will also be signing copies of his books, which are available for sale at P3,000 at the dinner. Among the books to be signed are Nobu The Cookbook, Nobu Now, and Nobu’s Vegetarian Cookbook.
Chef Nobu will be supported by Nobu Hotel at City of Dreams Manila executive chef Zack Hillberry, hotel general manager Marlon Hirsh and restaurant manager Casper Khamphouy.
Tickets to the event, which will be hosted in the hotel’s contemporary Nobu restaurant fine-dining venue, are priced at P7,000.
