TuanTuan Chinese Brasserie: Fusing Chinese culinary tradition with French ambiance

Alixandra Caole Vila - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – Looking for a different palate adventure? How about indulging on a feast that would transport you in China and France at the same time?

As the first Chinese Brasserie in the Philippines, TuanTuan is Hong Kong comfort food with French flair.

The restaurant creates a distinctive dining experience by refining Chinese culinary tradition within an urbane yet cozy French inspired ambiance.

Tuan is a Chinese term, which means round, to unite or to bond. Inspired by the fascination of Chinese with the circle, this idea of union is the meaning of TuanTuan – round and round, also, gathering things together.

With the aim to bond relationships through food with a whole lot stylish atmosphere, Tuan Tuan serves food that is delicious, quick, authentic and sizeable for the whole family.

From the internationally awarded Mui Garden curry and Deer Garden Halibut noodle soup to our scrumptious Signature Snow Buns, rich congee, Macanese dishes and authentic tea preparations – Tuan Tuan have brought together the best of Hong Kong comfort food to give you a gastronomic satisfaction.

Halibut Noodle Soup
Their signature Halibut Fish Soup gives a hearty experience that is both appetizing and healthful. The dish takes pride on its luxuriously milky yet light, silky, alive with the rich, delicate flavors of the sea – from the deer garden broth that harkens from clean, cool waters of Canada to the halibut that is imported for supreme quality and taste.

There are more than a hundred ways to make your halibut noodle soup, and here are some of the variants, which the restaurant already prepared for you.

Hong Kong Congee
At TuanTuan, rice is lovingly cooked for many hours until it flowers and blooms into the water, wonderfully disintegrating to create a distinctively smooth, creamy consistency.  Raw ingredients are then put in continuously until becoming soft, their flavors becoming slowly infused into the entire mixture.  The result is the delicious shade that is trademark of the very tasty Hong Kong congee that we serve.

TuanTuan Curry
The well-known Mui Garden curry is mouth-watering, rich with the great blend of spices and creamy coconut milk, and made even more luxurious with perfectly soft potatoes and the unctuous goodness of beef brisket.  The beef brisket melts in the mouth, and the sauce is creamy, multi-dimensional, made from over twenty meticulously blended spices and ingredients, from over five decades of perfection in the unique home style cooking of Mui Garden.
