O, wow! It’s 40 years of Oishi!
MANILA, Philippines - 2014 marks the 40th year since Oishi Prawn Crackers and Kirei were first introduced. Oishi promises that this year will be nothing short of “O, Wow!â€
I wonder how much more exciting it can get — after all, Oishi’s first event this year was the “Fun Day†held recently at the Skye Lounge in BGC.
It was a star-filled day as Team O, whose mission is to surprise people and create O, Wow! moments, outdid itself on that day.
Daniel Padilla had a shootout station where contestants were made to score points in his ring. Slater Young manned his Smart C+ Zorb Station, which had those brave enough riding in a wheel of plastic. Elmo Magalona manned his Jeep O. I really enjoyed this station, and so did my little companion Rapha Moran. Ramon Bautista had the crowd racing through his Boot Camp.
Following the successful launch of Oishi’s Team O in 2012, 2013 was a year of fun and laughs as Team O created yet another surprise around the university belt of Luneta. “Team O: Jeep O†featured Ramon Bautista, Slater Young and Elmo Magalona disguising themselves as regular passengers. With a jeep equipped with hidden cameras, Oishi was able to capture the expressions of shock and delight on the passengers’ faces as Team O surprised them.
2013 also welcomed Oishi Marty’s endorser and the newest addition to the Team O lineup, the #medyobadboy himself, Daniel Padilla. Daniel had his very own O, Wow! Surprise at Culiat High School, in Tandang Sora, Quezon City. Fifty Daniel Padilla clones spread throughout the covered courts of Culiat High School and the students were thrilled with the challenge of identifying him! At the end of the day, the students left happy and overwhelmed with excitement.
How does Daniel Padilla feel being part of Team O?
“Team O is really fun and I’m really enjoying it,†he says. “I thought it was a really cool and fun idea to randomly give surprises.â€
Padilla had so much fun when he visited Culiat High School because the students there were so happy to see him.
“Saya,†he adds. “Lalo na yung habulan and pag-nakikita mo reaction ng students during the program.â€
Team O invites everyone to be a part of the team by submitting ideas on what the big surprise should be this 2014. By submitting your entries online, through Oishi’s Social Media Accounts, the chosen idea will be executed by Team O together with the winning mastermind in capping off the brand’s 40th year.
