MANILA, Philippines - It’s never too early — or too late — to start making great food choices for living well, and Rustan’s Supermarket reminds shoppers and customers just how important it is to eat right with the Goodness Gang.
Taking off from its highly successful Big Headz promo, the ultimate food source introduces this new set of fun and lovable health companions. Representing some of your favorite fruits and vegetables in the form of soft plush toys, the Goodness Gang reminds you to love your body by adhering to the five-a-day rule: five pieces of fruits, vegetables, or a combination of both, to be consumed each day.
The five-a-day rule is based on advice from the World Health Organization, which recommends eating a minimum of 400 grams of fruits and vegetables a day to lower the risk of serious health problems such as heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes and obesity.
Choose from a variety of colorful and cute fruits and vegetables: Aubergine reduces the risk of cancer and cardiovascular and eye diseases, while Cherries aid in the reduction of cancer and heart disease. There’s also Bananas, which prevent muscle cramps and reduce blood pressure and heart attacks, as well as Garlic, which promotes the well-being of the heart and immune system. Broccoli is responsible for cancer prevention and blood pressure regulation, and Carrots help prevent cancer and heart disease. Finally, Pears play a part in cancer prevention, and Strawberries are well-known fighters of cancer and bad cholesterol.
Get ahold of your preferred Goodness Gang buddy by collecting stickers as you shop at Rustan’s Supermarket. Every P300 single-receipt purchase entitles you to one sticker. One Goodness Gang plush toy of your choice is free with a total of 50 stickers, or can be availed of for P299 with 25 stickers. Optionally, you may also purchase a plush toy for P999 without stickers. Stamps will be issued until Nov. 30, while redemption of plush toys can be done up to Jan. 30, 2014.
