Joseph Marco: Looking good is about eating healthy

MANILA, Philippines - Last year, Joseph Marco made the pages of Men’s Health Philippines sizzle with his washboard abs and megawatt smile, telling tales about his road to fitness and his beginnings as a breakthrough star. This October, this young actor makes his sophomore cover for the leading men’s magazine, a more mature man. 

Fresh from the success of primetime hit Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala, Marco recently unveiled his latest cover at the Wildflour Café and Bakery in Taguig City. A gallery of friends from the media, fashion, showbiz with ABS-CBN executive and creative team, joined the young actor’s intimate launch-cum-birthday celebration.

 â€œThe feeling the first time I made it on the cover was tremendously heartwarming. It was not something I thought I’d ever do and I felt really great,” the coverboy/celebrant says. “This time, it’s even more overwhelming to see that a lot has already happened in the short span of time my first cover was released. I can say I am proud of what I have achieved and I can’t wait to find out what more I can do.”

 In a night of healthy meals and fun music and more healthy tips courtesy of free copies distributed to guests, Marco added another entry to his already handsome resume that bridges the 15-month gap of his first Men’s Health cover.

 â€œIt’s really all about discipline. First, you’ve got to eat healthy. Everything else follows. If you can discipline yourself to select what you put in your body, then it is easier to find the determination to consistently workout. It’s a kind of regimen that you have to learn to embody,” he says.

 Amid the healthy treats of arugula and wild mushroom salads, baby mixed green salad, and wild mushroom tarte flambee, Wildflour of course didn’t fail to insert a sumptuous “cheat treat” of mini- croissant donuts, which is a signature dessert.

Now, with a successful teleserye that made a powerful run with no less than Judy Ann Santos and Sam Milby, Joseph embarks on new roles and with a new primetime show in the works and independent films to come like the coming Saturday Night Chills with Matteo Guidicelli and Rayver Cruz and Saka-Saka with Ejay Falcon.

 â€œI am excited about what’s more to come. And because I know that this is what I want, I’d make sure I work hard even to see the results I dream of,” Joseph says with a smile.
