MANILA, Philippines - Raffles Makati embarks on a campaign to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer dubbed “Raffles Makati Goes Positively Pink.” The month-long campaign will have offerings in which a portion of the proceeds will go to the I Can Serve Foundation. The Raffles Makati driveway will be lit in pink in partnership with Philips. At the Writers Bar, the Positively Pink Afternoon Tea provides a selection of bite-size sandwiches, desserts, macarons and a glass of rose champagne at P1,095 per person. At the Long Bar, a Positively Pink Sling will be offered, a twist on the Singapore Sling at P420. The hotel’s pastry chefs have created Positively Pink macarons for sale at P70 per piece at Café Macaron. The Willow Stream Spa offers the Positively Pink Relaxation Massage, a 75-minute massage at P3, 800. Local residents may avail of the Positively Pink Suite Package, which starts at P12, 500. The package includes breakfast for two, welcome Pink Slings, a box of Pink Macarons, and Pink Afternoon Tea at the Writers Bar.

Chocolate buffet at Discovery Suites

Discovery Suites celebrates “International Chocolate Day” until Sept. 28. Be treated to a chocolate buffet every Friday and Saturday until Sept. 28 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and from 6 p.m. 10 p.m.  Guests try all items in the cold and hot chocolate stations at 22 Prime like cakes, assorted truffles, tarts, muffins, pralines, and other cacao-based delectables for only P475+ per person.

Wine and cheese week at Sofitel Philippine Plaza

Sofitel Philippine Plaza celebrates Wine Week until Sept. 29.   There are French wine-appreciation classes at La Veranda until Sept. 26 from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. There are wine- and cheese-pairing sessions to be conducted by food and beverage director Damien Marchenay and Bernard Flour, managing director of Le Cellier.  Wine-appreciation classes are as follows: Wines from the old world and new world, Sept. 24; Premium Champagnes such as Dom Pérignon and Krug, Sept. 25 and Burgundy wines, Sept. 26.  Rate is P1,500 per person per session. A wine and cheese delicatessen at Le Bar features artisan cheeses from Spiral’s L’Epicerie and a selection of over 15 wines from Bordeaux, Provence, Côtes du Rhône and the Loire Valley, France. Rate is set at P1,500 per person inclusive of cheese buffet and wine, free-flowing for two hours. The wine and cheese Deli at Le Bar from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. is ongoing until Sept. 29. Wine and cheese to go are available at the deli counter. Wines are sold by the bottle with prices ranging from P380 to P1,000. Delivery is available for an additional fee.
