The four wines include Bodegas Tradicion Pedro Ximenez VOS NV, a sweet, intensely concentrated dark sherry from Andalucia, Spain. It has an aftertaste of raisins. The wine is an elegant match to various desserts, cakes and pastries.
The Royal Tokaji Aszu 5 Putts Blue Label 2007 from Hungary has an enticing palate of honey, apricot, and peach plus a hint of lemon/orange peel, and has a lingering finish. Chateau Rieussec 2008, on the other hand, is a dessert wine from Sauternes, Bordeaux, France, with a palate of vibrant orange nicely mingling with touches of vanilla, and honeyed fruit on the finish.
Croft 2003 from Portugal is a full-bodied sweet wine with a relatively exotic nose characterized by cherry liqueur, pear, licorice, & melted dark chocolate, a palate with succulent & ripe black fruit, and a rounded, decadent, and spicy finish.
