New York's top pastry chef to hold classes in Manila

Chef Toba Garrett is a world-renowned and highly sought after pastry master-instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education in New York.

MANILA, Philippines - Master Chef Toba Garrett will be in Manila to conduct cake design courses at the American Hospitality Academy (AHA) Philippines from October 2 to 5.

Chef Toba is a world-renowned and highly sought after pastry master-instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education in New York, a department she started more than 14 years ago. Her classes, which are among the most comprehensive and diverse in the world, are sold out months in advance.

She has been featured on “The Today Show,” “Home Matters” and “Emeril Live” and her work has appeared in various magazines including In-Style, Modern Bride, Gourmet, Woman’s Day, Chocolatier and many more.

Chef Toba has also authored numerous books on pastry and cake design.

For 30 years, she has studied and mastered cake design and has won more than a dozen international gold and silver medals as well as countless diplomas and felicitations.

These include the trophy of Les Commandarie des Cordons Bleus de France and the 14-karat-gold medal-of-honor from Le Societè Culinaire Philanthropique de New York.
