'Shake, Rattke and Pour' at TGIFriday's
MANILA, Philippines - They’re fun, fierce, and fiery! But they are all behind bars — and loving it! T.G.I.Friday’s best bartenders vie for the title of “2001 Shake, Rattle and Pour Bartending Champion.”
Festivities simulating a 4th of July celebration will be the backdrop of this year’s inter-store bartending competition at TGIFriday’s Glorietta today at 3 p.m. Expect a kaleidoscope of colors, spectacular and non-stop bartending flairs, and infectious energy that will keep your adrenaline pumping from start to finish. True to its roots, the theme will be all-American — truly Friday’s. The restaurant will be decked in red, white and blue — from balloon arch tunnel and topiaries, to American flaglets on table tops.
Competing in the championship are 12 contestants representing each Friday’s branch all over the Philippines. They are: Wilfredo “D’ Entertainer” Marcelo (Glorietta), Sir Raminad “The Rookie” Ong (Malate), Gary “Black Wizard” Perez (Alabang), Genrev “Revolution” Bacasno (Tomas Morato,QC), Eduardo “The Dream” Zamora (Sta. Lucia East), Bryan “The Silent Tamaraw” Lozano (Robinsons Galleria), Aldrin “JavarTender” Javar (Trinoma), Joel “El Presidente” Delos Santos (Bonifacio High Street) and Ralph “Flairformer” Daganio (SM Mall Of Asia). For the first time, the finals will include contenders from Friday’s restaurants outside Metro Manila: John Ariane “Mr. Multiple” Ocampo (Marquee Mall, Pampanga), Eric “Pinoy Pride” Esguerra (Ayala Center Cebu) and Lorenzo Miguel “Party Rocker” Salazar (Abreeza Mall Davao).
Only one of these 12 bartenders will be conferred the “TGIFriday’s Bartending Champion.” The winner will receive valuable prizes and the chance to represent the Philippines at the Asia-Pacific Region Bartending Competition to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia this October. Cebu Pacific will fly this year’s champion to Malaysia.
The event will be hosted by DJ Mo Twister with music by GSM Mix master Champion and guest DJ, Nampu Kawamoto.

One lucky fan who liked the winning photo and video, respectively, will get two tickets to the live competition.
