Korean barbecue goodness at Bulgogi Brothers

MANILA, Philippines - The Bistro Group of Restaurants brings Bulgogi Brothers to Manila. The 120-seater Korean restaurant known for its delectable bulgogi is located at the third floor of Greenbelt 5.

The Bistro Group is the company behind popular casual dining places, namely Italianni’s, TGIFriday’s, Flapjacks, Fish & Co, Pig Out, Krazy Garlik and The Stock Market.

If you love bulgogi, Seoul would be your logical destination. But you don’t have to travel that far to enjoy this delicious marinated and barbecued meat dish that is a staple in Korea.

At Bulgogi Brothers, start your meal with complimentary side dishes such as pickled vegetables and spinach and eggplant salad. Then dig into bulgogi, thin slices of prime cuts of marinated beef or pork grilled to perfection. “Bulgogi” means “fire meat” in Korean.

The extensive menu teems with bulgogi variations including the Unyang Style, a bulgogi patty considered as a royal fare; Un-yang & Gwang-yang Style (Bulgogi Brothers Special), a house specialty with   assorted bulgogi seasoned to perfection; Seoul Style Bulgogi, sliced beef with vegetables with bulgogi broth that is made of fruits, onion, and soy sauce; and Beoseot Bulgogi (same as Seoul Style with additional mushroom). Diners can cook the barbecue right on their table using an induction burner.

Aside from assorted bulgogi, Bulgogi Brothers also serves rice dishes, jjigae (stew) and noodles. Must-try items are kimchi-jjigae (spicy stew made with ripened kimchi, pork, and tofu); janchi-guksu (flour noodles in seafood broth served with vegetables); haemul gungjung mandu (fried dumpling with seafood and served with spicy sauce); sogogi songi bokkeum (stir-fried beef with assorted vegetables); dubu steak (fried crispy tofu with teriyaki sauce and bean sprout); dwaeji galbi gui (grilled spareribs marinated in soy sauce); and haemul doenjang-jjigae (soybean stew with assorted seafood and vegetables, served with rice). 

There is a wide range of beverages such as Korean liquor (including soju), wine, beer, and fresh fruit juices, among others.

The dining experience is enhanced by a Western-style, cozy ambience with K-Pop playing in the background and the Bistro Group’s brand of service, which is efficient, friendly and ebullient.

Bulgogi Brothers opened its first restaurant in Gang-Nam, Seoul, Korea in October 2006. Since then, it has provided gourmands with high quality meat dishes and an impressive roster of beverages — all priced reasonably. To date, Bulgogi Brothers has 28 branches spread across South Korea.
