Most-loved Italianni's lunch treats are back!

- Lai S. Reyes -

MANILA, Philippines - This August, Italianni’s brings back its most-loved signature lunch dishes (due to popular demand) with two new premium items that are guaranteed to whet one’s appetite.

Italianni’s lets diners indulge in pork ala sarda with gusto as the old-time best-seller graces the menu once again. The pork belly is marinated in barbecue sauce, grilled and served with pesto rice and corn relish with pepper sauce on the side.

Diners who are in the mood for something light and flavorful can opt for Salmon Spumante. The Norwegian salmon is filleted then pan-seared in a special wine and cream sauce. It comes with spaghetti aglio olio and slices of garlic Tuscan points.

Tuna surprise: Italianni’s’ Tuna Spumante is cooked with Asti Spumante sparkling wine.

The dish is called Salmon Spumante because of the Asti Spumante sparkling wine the chef used to cook the salmon.

“Most of our diners are repeat customers and we don’t want them to suffer from taste fatigue. That’s why it’s important to come up with new and exciting dishes so there’s always something new to feast on during their next visit,” enthuses Lisa Ronquillo, AVP for marketing, Bistro Group.

An Italian resto is probably the last place meat-busters would go to satisfy their cravings. Well, simply because meat is rarely enjoyed by Italians, being the light eaters that they are. They’d prefer pizza, pasta and fish over a huge chunk of red meat.

But regular diners of Italianni’s think otherwise. To them Italianni’s is the go-to place whenever they get a craving for roast pork belly or grilled pork chops.

“Italianni’s is more than just a pizza and pasta place. There’s always something new every time my friends and I dine at Italianni’s,” notes Flor Grande, who recently celebrated her birthday with her friend Grace Sumobay and family members at Italianni’s TriNoma. “The only thing constant here is the freshly baked bread served for free at the start of every meal.”

Flor and Grace frequent the resto during their lunch breaks because they get value for their money. The lunch items are delizioso, filling, and reasonably priced. And since both of them are meat lovers, they take turns ordering Italianni’s Italian-style meat treats such as the grilled US Angus sirloin served with pepper sauce and seasonal veggies; the beef tenderloin with black peppercorn sauce, mashed potatoes and sautéed veggies; and the grilled pork chops with crisp fried spinach and garlic rice.

Young foodie: Bea Zapa can’t get enough of Italianni’s pizza and iced tea.

“The servings are quite big so we’d order two different items on the menu. In that way, we get to sample and enjoy two dishes in one go,” enthuses Grace.

My personal favorite is the roast pork belly, which is so deliciously juicy and flavorful. Its natural juice oozes as the knife gently glides down the meat. Every bite is awesome goodness.

“Italianni’s is an American-Italian restaurant. So aside from offering meals in big portions, we also added meat items to the menu because that’s what our diners clamor for,” enthuses Paul Manuud, Bistro Group COO.
